Coaxial Twin Rotors for a Large Payload

The DJI Agras T40 is a spraying and spreading drone whose coaxial twin-rotor design carries 40 litres of spray liquid or 70 litres (50 kg) of fertiliser and seed. It is equipped with a dual-atomising spray system, active phased array radar and binocular vision, combining field mapping, spraying and spreading in one airframe.

The T40 was the first Agras model to use DJI's coaxial twin-rotor architecture, and as the flagship of the generation before the T50 it is widely used on large arable farms and in service operators' fleets. Four arms with two propellers each keep the drone stable even under heavy loads, and the folding arms make it noticeably smaller for transport. Its gimbal camera and upgraded remote controller let you map plots and generate routes automatically without a separate mapping drone. The dual centrifugal atomisers adjust droplet size to the product, and the 70-litre spreading hopper handles granular fertiliser and seed over large areas. Batteries charge in minutes from the D12000iE generator or a mains charger, so two or three batteries are enough for continuous fieldwork. We support existing T40 owners with spare parts, batteries and service; for a new investment, consider the current T50 and T70P as well.

Coaxial Twin-Rotor Design

The coaxial twin-rotor layout increases lifting capacity and allows spreading payloads of up to 50 kg. The folding design reduces the drone's footprint by about 70% for transport.

Spray System

Two centrifugal atomisers deliver up to 12 L/min in total and break the liquid into evenly sized droplets.

Magnetic-Drive Pump

With magnetic coupling, the liquid never touches the motor, making the pump more corrosion-resistant and longer-lasting. It can be removed by hand for quick cleaning.

Dual-Atomising Centrifugal Nozzles

Droplet size can be adjusted to the product applied, and more uniform droplets make better use of it. A dedicated centrifugal valve prevents leaks and reduces waste.

Real-Time Weighing

A weighing sensor continuously tracks the amount applied and the load remaining, and signals refills accurately.

Quick Removal and Cleaning

The spreader can be removed in about 3 minutes and washed with water.

Active Phased Array Radar and Binocular Vision

The phased array radar provides 360° horizontal obstacle sensing and works with the binocular vision system to increase safety. A detection range of up to 50 m enables smart terrain following and obstacle bypassing.

Spraying, Spreading and Mapping in One

The T40's gimbal camera captures field and orchard imagery in real time, so local maps can be built without a separate mapping drone. The system recognises boundaries and obstacles automatically and quickly prepares flight routes for fields and hillside orchards.

Upgraded Remote Controller for Faster Mapping

The eight-core remote controller can map about 6.67 hectares in 10 minutes. Its bright 7-inch screen stays clear in the sun, and smart route planning cuts unnecessary flying. Position data is retained even after a power cut.

Core components have been through corrosion, high and low temperature and ageing tests, and are designed for harsh farming conditions.

Fast Charging with the D12000iE Inverter Generator

The electronic fuel injection (EFI) generator has a 12,000 W output and uses about 15% less fuel. Its 1,500 W AC outlet powers equipment such as the remote controller, water pump and lights. An air-cooled heat sink quickly gets the 30,000 mAh battery ready for charging.

Variable-Rate Application with Prescription Maps

The T40 can carry out variable-rate spraying and fertilising based on prescription maps created with the DJI Phantom 4 Multispectral. Typical beneficiaries include fertiliser on rice, defoliants and fertiliser on cotton, and nutrient solutions on soybean and maize.
