How Durable Is the DJI Agras T30? IP67 and Protection Layers

26 May 2024

We explain the T30's three layers of protection, a sealed body, separate module chambers and board-level coating, plus washing tips for a long service life.

A spraying drone is in daily contact with dust, mud, moisture and corrosive chemicals, so durability matters as much as motor power or tank size. The Agras T30 was designed with a layered protection approach.

Note: The Agras T30 is a previous-generation DJI spraying drone. The current line-up includes the Agras T50, Agras T55 and Agras T70P. This article is for operators still flying the T30 or considering a used unit.

IP67 Rating

The T30's core components are IP67 rated: fully dust-tight and resistant to brief immersion. In practice the drone can be washed with water at the end of the day.

Three-Layer Protection

1. Sealed body

An external heat sink removes the need for internal air channels, so internal components stay sealed. Exposed electronic modules are protected by rubber covers.

2. Separate module chambers

The flight controller, radio and power unit sit in separate chambers, so moisture in one does not affect the others.

3. Board-level coating

Circuit boards are coated to prevent corrosion even if liquid or dust gets through. According to the manufacturer, the coating passed 1,000 hours of hot-cold shock testing.

Reliability Testing

The T30 underwent salt spray, waterproofing and corrosion tests. Metal parts were reported intact after a 24-hour accelerated salt spray test.

Correct Washing and Care

  • Remove the battery and keep the battery bay closed before washing.
  • Use low or medium pressure water and avoid aiming at connectors.
  • Let the drone dry in the shade.
  • Replace torn rubber covers and seals; IP protection depends on them.
