Why Do the DJI Agras T50 and T25 Fly So Steadily?
28 May 2024
We explain the direct link between stable flight and even coverage by looking at rotor design, constant-flow pumps, radar and transmission.
In a spraying drone, stable flight means even coverage. A drone that wobbles in the wind over-sprays one pass and under-sprays the next, wasting product and leaving disease in the field. The Agras T50 and T25 address this with their airframe, constant-flow pumps, dual radar and strong transmission.
For capacity and use-case differences, see our T50 vs T25 comparison.
Airframe and Capacity
The T50's coaxial twin-rotor design carries 40 kg of spray steadily. According to DJI it can spray up to 21 ha per hour in suitable conditions, and with its 75-litre spreading tank it carries 50 kg and spreads up to 1.5 tonnes per hour. The quad-rotor T25 sprays up to 12 ha per hour and spreads up to one tonne per hour with a 25 kg load.
Constant Flow: Magnetic Drive Impeller Pumps
Both models use dual magnetic drive impeller pumps. With the motor separated from the liquid, leak and corrosion risk falls, and the manufacturer reports lower energy use. Flow is matched to speed so the dose per area stays constant.
Adjustable Droplet Size
Dual centrifugal atomizers allow droplets from 50 to 500 microns. Solenoid valves start and stop spraying precisely at the ends of each pass.
Even Spreading
The T50's high-torque motor and spiral-channel disc spread granules evenly at up to 108 kg/min, and a wide loading opening speeds up refilling.
Dual Radar and Vision
Dual phased array radars and stereo vision keep a constant height above the crop even on slopes, so swath width and dose stay consistent across the field.
Reliable Link
Four-antenna O3 transmission provides a stable link up to 2 km, and DJI Relay reduces dropouts in wooded or mountainous terrain.
Fast Charging
The T50's DB1560 battery charges in about 9 minutes with a suitable generator and cooling unit; the T25's DB800 also supports fast charging.
